Renting a scooter in a new city can raise a lot of questions — and we’re here to answer all of them. Whether you’re visiting from abroad or you’re a local looking for a reliable ride, here’s what you need to know about renting a scooter in Athens with Maggie Moto Rentals.
What license do I need to rent a scooter?
EU citizens: A regular Category B (car) license is enough for scooters up to 125cc.
Non-EU citizens: You’ll need an International Driving Permit (IDP) valid for scooters or motorcycles, along with your national license.

What is the minimum age for renting?
You must be at least 21 years old to rent a scooter from Maggie Moto Rentals.
What documents do I need?
Valid driver’s license
ID or passport
(For non-EU guests) An International Driving Permit (IDP)
A credit card or cash deposit for the rental security

Do you offer insurance?
Yes. All rentals include basic third-party liability insurance by default.
Additional coverage options (like theft protection or extended damage coverage) are available on request for a small extra fee.
Can I ride with a passenger?
Absolutely. Our scooters are built for two riders. We’ll also provide a second helmet if needed.
Can I ride outside of Athens?
Yes, you're free to take your scooter outside the city, but:
Please inform us in advance if you plan to go far
Distances should be reasonable (e.g., day trips, not cross-country)
Coverage for roadside assistance applies within the Attica region
Can you deliver the scooter to my location?
Yes! We offer delivery and pickup across central Athens — including to:
Hotels and Airbnbs
Metro stations (e.g., Syntagma, Monastiraki)
Residential areas within a defined zone
Some delivery services are free (depending on the rental duration); small fees may apply for remote or last-minute requests.
Do I need to refuel the scooter before returning it?
We provide your scooter with a full or half-full tank. Please return it with the same fuel level to avoid a refueling charge.
What should I do in case of an accident or breakdown?
Stay safe and call us immediately

In case of serious incidents, notify local police if required
